MIAMI, FL, January 11, 2019 – HBO premieres BREXIT, a provocative feature-length drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch that goes behind the scenes of the Brexit referendum, an event that in the summer of 2016 sent political tremors around the world. The film debuts February 4 at 08:00 p.m. exclusively on HBO and HBO GO.

Cumberbatch portrays Dominic Cummings, the British political advisor and strategist who served as the Campaign Director of Vote Leave campaign, the movement in favor of the United Kingdom leaving the European Union, or brexit as it now known as. Rory Kinnear plays Craig Oliver, Prime Minister David Cameron’s director of communications and head of the Remain campaign.

BREXIT reveals the personalities, strategies and feuds of the Leave and Remain campaigns – the opposite poles at the core of the historical parties in the United Kingdom; and takes a close look at the Vote Leave side, which swayed a historically silent voting bloc that ultimately decided the outcome, affecting future elections around the world.

Directed by Toby Haynes, BREXIT is written by James Graham, who also serves as executive producer alongside Juliette Howell and Tessa Ross. Lynn Horsford is the producer. BREXIT is an HBO Films, BBC Studios, Channel 4 and House Productions presentation.
