WATCHMEN leads all programming with 11 Emmys®.
Miami, FL., September 21, 2020 – HBO received 30 Emmy® Awards – 11 statues at the 72nd Annual Primetime Emmy® Awards and 19 during the Creative Arts Emmy® Awards – establishing itself once again as the most awarded platform of the year.
WATCHMEN, which was the most nominated series of the year with a total of 26 nominations, was the most awarded series of the night, including Emmys® for Outstanding Limited Series, Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, Movie or Special, Outstanding and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie. SUCCESSION received 7 awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
EUPHORIA took home three statues, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series; and LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER, which received an Emmy® for Outstanding Variety Talk Series, ended the night with five statues.
